Interactive/Web Application Programmer

Location: Provo, UT Status 25-30 hours per week. Full time work possible for the right candidate.

This position will work in a fast pace team environment as a member of a highly skilled team of designers and developers to develop web applications for training and marketing projects. Daily work responsibilities will be to develop and/or optimize data driven applications for web sites, multimedia based products including video, motion graphics, 3D animation, images, and other multimedia elements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• 2+ years of consumer-facing, interactive Flash development experience with Flash Builder plus solid experience using ActionScript 3, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Strong foundation in design, motion graphics, and UI design.
• Strong background of Flash animation techniques using both timeline , AS3, and/or using the motion editor.
• Knowledge of JavaScript, including jQuery library and AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript).
• Ability to take/provide creative direction and work independently and pro-actively.
• Experience developing games or data driven applications in ActionScript 3.0, PHP, and MySQL.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Use Flash Builder and/or Flash CS5 to build Flash assets from scratch and work with third-party provided source Flash files.
• Write clean, well structured, reusable, and scalable ActionScript, PHP and Javascript code.
• Create custom video players.
• Work with a team to improve existing applications.
• Work closely with creative and development teams to collaboratively come up with concepts and execute those concepts using Flash.
• Adhere to time-sensitive deadlines and remain responsive and reactive from concept to launch.

eLearning Course Developer

Location: Provo, UT Status: Fulltime Start date: Immediately Experience: Articulate Presenter, Microsoft PowerPoint and Basic Photoshop

This position will assist in the development of web based courseware, through the design, development and maintenance of multimedia, graphical and instructional components, such as graphics, videos, animations, and interactions using software such as Articulate Presenter, Adobe Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrates a proven track record to manage time and meet deadlines.
• Tasks include developing PowerPoint presentations, designing multimedia elements, color schemes, logos, interface design and audio editing.
• Work with the project manager to understand course objectives and execute assigned course projects from concept through completion.
• Must be detail-orientated with the skill sets needed to develop a project from conceptualization through final production.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field or an associate's degree and at least 2 years experience in graphics and web development preferred.
• Knowledge of and competence with: basic features Adobe CS4/5 Suite (especially Captivate, Photoshop, Flash and Illustrator), basic features Articulate or Camtasia (or equivalent), features of learning/content management systems (L/CMS), basic-Intermediate features of MS Office (Word, Excel, Office), basic features of HTML
• Knowledge of video editing software and/or sound editing software is a plus.
• A strong sense of typography, layout and design along with ability to maintain corporate design standards, is a must.
• Must have a solid understanding of graphic design principles and the demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, the ability work well under pressure in a team environment and in collaboration with other departments is also required.
• Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Must show strong initiative, self-motivation and follow through.

Multimedia Graphic Designer (Internship)

Location: Provo, UT Status: Internship Duration: 10 weeks Start date: Immediately Pay: $150/week stipend Experience: Basic Photoshop and Microsoft PowerPoint

This position will work in a fast pace team environment, with a senior Creative Designer to generate concepts, execute mechanicals and develop multimedia components including, but not limited to the corporate web sites and multimedia based products including video, motion graphics, 3D animation, images, and other multimedia elements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for translating business objectives, concepts and information into visually compelling graphics under tight deadlines.
• Tasks include designing multimedia elements, online materials, logos, interface design and video editing.
• Work with the Creative Designer to understand company and marketing initiatives and execute assigned design projects from concept through completion.
• Must be detail-orientated with the skill sets needed to develop a project from conceptualization through final production.

Education/Experience:

Project Manager — Digital Media (Internship)

Location: Provo, UT Status: Internship Duration: 10 weeks Start date: Immediately Pay: $150/week stipend Experience: Microsoft Project and PowerPoint

This position has the responsibility of leading and participating in instructional design processes and projects. The Project Manager ensures that the Xcelus media team has the internal and external resources needed to produce graphics and media objects on schedule, and to ensure that our products maintain a high level of quality. Candidate should be comfortable working in a fast changing and growing entrepreneurial environment where customer satisfaction, accountability, quality, innovation, and timeliness are key components.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage the production of media in compliance with budget, schedule and product specs. Perform quality assurance on vendor-delivered media assets for compliance to product specifications.
• Coordinate communication and completion of engagements with Client Managers, Engagement Managers, Project Manager, and team members.
• Process, track and manage expense reporting, including both invoices and expense reports. This includes verifying information, coding and maintaining records.
• Must be able to work with minimal direct supervision and to concurrently handle and prioritize many responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Professional phone manner, excellent verbal and written communication skills, good judgment, strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Experience using MS Project for business information and communications is required.
• This position will be in communication with external clients/vendors and will be responsible for representing Xcelus in a professional and courteous manner.

Social Media Manager (Internship)
